Days like this are my fave.
Of course, there was me: clothed in my scrubs from last night's call shift, my hair all crazy-like from shoveling the driveway in a blizzard.
And kids playing in the snow all morning, bundled up beyond recognition.
Highlights had to be:
1-Zeke screaming, stuck, after two steps into inches-deep snow
2- a lopsided and incomplete snowman- the skewers (arms) and raisins (eyes/nose?) abandoned somewhere
3- One screaming fit by Miss E after a snowball to the face.
4-A house in which children could play "snowclothes minefield sweep".
After which we piled in the car amidst snowfall and drove to Krispy Kreme for doughnuts and hot chocolate. The kids were having a blast and I was proud of myself for taking FIVE kids (my three and two neighbors) all by my lonesome...until Jake called to advise me that under no circumstances should I venture out into the perilous snowstorm.
Oops.
But, we made it home intact.
We've had a great day. This is what Christmas vacation is all about, right?
p.s. There's not been much posting lately as our camera is dying a slow death. This picture was taken on my phone. Please all my people with recent pics (Lindsay, Lisa, Mom) show some love and send me photos or you'll have to suffer with the camera phone. We're hoping Santa will bring a new, shiny camera. Hope we made the "nice list".
p.p.s. Everyone with a one year-old knows exactly why there are no ornaments on the bottom-half of the tree. Thanks, Z!
