A casting director saw us at the mall and invited us to an open casting call for a History Channel documentary. The documentary was about the dust bowl migration. All 3kids auditioned. Ellie sang "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" at the screen test that was sent off to New York. Ellie was cast as "Patient Girl #3", a sick child with dust in her lungs.
Originally they cast Zeke for another scene, but then cancelled it. I found out later it was going to involve spiders, so that was a relief.
At the last minute during the shoot one of the producers asked Roxy if she'd like to be a sick patient, too. She was thrilled, of course. Roxy was a pro and had a blast chatting with the other kid actors between takes.
Roxy and Eleanor each got paid $45.00 for the morning. They thought that was pretty cool!

Eleanor in the green room. Sooo not camera-shy.

Eleanor laid in a hospital bed, being "sick" for 2 1/2 hours. Pretty good for a 3 year-old. There was the sweetest scene with her and the fake doctor. They had put fake sweat beads on her forehead and then the doctor mopped her forehead and listened to her with a stethescope and held her hand. Ohhhh, the way Ellie's big brown eyes followed him and looked so mournful- It was moving! Another stage mom even got a little choked up.
They let Ellie play with a puppet between takes.
Roxy had to hide her braces and earrings during the movie shoot. Too funny!

Roxy got to learn Mexican Dance from Dora Thomas.
They performed in front of her school at the end of the class series. She did a great job!

Zeke is a fast, determined, active little man. At 8 months he learned to stand and even take 3-4 steps!

We also think he's a genius (not biased, of course). Look at him reading already!

Your kids are darling Angel! I am AMAZED that your little 3 year old would stay in the bed for 2 minutes, let alone 2 hours! I've got a 3 year old and that is... well... INCREDIBLE. and BTW-- Zeke is brilliant- 8 months-- steps... yup!
What fun! I can't wait to watch the documentary... you'll have to let us know when it airs. BTW when are you moving to Utah? Did you find a house yet?
What a fun adventure! My kids would totally kill to be on tv, how cool! Have you bought a house in Utah yet?
